Point of Rocks Park

The land occupied by this 188-acre park was the southern end of the Union position during the Bermuda Hundred Campaign, and near where Gen. Benjamin Butler established his headquarters during the early days of the campaign. During the Siege of Petersburg, Red Cross founder Clara Barton served at Point of Rocks as the superintendent of nurses.

Remnants of Union earthworks can be seen along the park road and trails. The park has athletic facilities, picnic areas and trails, including a boardwalk through a freshwater tidal marsh.
